Boxx sees red, rolls out RedBoxx.(PRODUCTS: POSTPRODUCTION)(Brief article)
Answering the industry's need for viewing Red One footage at 2K resolution, Boxx Technologies rolled out RedBoxx, a complete solution that allows film directors, colorists, and effects experts to view the 4K footage shot with Red Digital Cinema Camera Company's Red One at full 2K resolution in real time, without scanning and transcoding.
RedBoxx is based on a specially engineered version of the 3DBoxx Workstation and includes Assimilate's new Scratch Cine software package for DI work. RedBOXX is designed to work only with RedCode .R3D files.
The RedBoxx is based on a unique dual-socket Intel architecture powered by two quad-core processors, for a total of eight cores, optimized for handling the .R3D files.
