Childcare centers, flextime and stop-the-clock tenure provisions are vital and growing on campus. Work/life practitioners can make a huge difference in the lives of students, faculty and staff.
Changing the culture is another story. Most schools still treat work/life flexibility as an accommodation, paying an institutional price to help out the needy few, which discourages usage and investment in new initiatives.
