Fern Nolte Davidson of Nampa, Idaho, died March 7, 2008. On her 100th birthday, in September 2007, a celebration of her life and accomplishments was held with family and friends. Davidson was honored by the MTNA FOUNDATION FUND with the establishment of the Fern Nolte

Davidson Endowment Fund in 1998. Davidson was born on September 1, 1907, to Willis C. Nolte and Lydia E. Harrison in Dazey, North Dakota. She received a B.A. degree in piano from John Fletcher College in Iowa. Following graduation she and her family moved to Idaho. She taught music in the Meridian School District for a few years.
