Hal Leonard Corp. has acquired a majority equity position in Holland-based De Haske, Europe's leading print publisher of instrumental music.
De Haske is co-owned by Jan De Haan and Garmt Van der Veen. An accomplished composer and a conductor of concert bands and brass bands, de Haan started De Haske in 1983 selling only his compositions. He subsequently added works by many successful young composers. In 1989, the company opened its first international branch in Switzerland, followed by offices in Germany, France, Italy and the United Kingdom.
