The recipient of the 2008 MTNA Teacher of the Year Award is Amanda Ward Penick.
Penick, NCTM, joined the faculty at the University of Alabama in 1953 and is professor of music and coordinator of the piano area in school of music. She has appeared extensively as a soloist and a chamber musician on the University Television Service weekly series "The Pianist at Work" for more than 28 years.
