MELBOURNE, June 2 Asia Pulse - Australian mining and construction contractor Macmahon Holdings Ltd (ASX:MAH) says it will move into the market in Africa whether or not it takes over Ausdrill Ltd (ASX:ASL).
Macmahon last week launched a A$442 million (US$421.8 million) scrip offer for drilling services firm Ausdrill, which the target says is "inadequate and opportunistic".
Macmahon chief executive Nick Bowen said Macmahon did not need to acquire Ausdrill but one of Ausdrill's attractions was its business in Africa.
