TRENTON, N.J. -- Jennifer Brettman went to high school in Gloucester County, Nadia Nieves in Bergen County.

Brettman wants to be an elementary school teacher, Nieves a clinical psychologist.

Both worried about affording college, until they learned about a special New Jersey scholarship program that helps high-achieving students get into community college. Both now attend community college fur free.

"I am so grateful for this scholarship," said Nieves, who finished in the top 17 percent of her Paramus Catholic High School class and who now attends Bergen County Community College. "I know that I earned it. I've made my family and friends proud." …
