Born in Rome, Italy, and educated at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, 30-year-old Chiara Civello has made an impression on the international jazz scene over the past few years with her impeccable vocal phrasing, interpretations and stellar songwriting chops.

Though Last Quarter Moon was her debut recording for the venerable Verve imprint, Civello has been a staple on the live-jazz scenes in both Boston and New York City for a number of years. The resulting compositions reflect such veteran aplomb and song-crafting skills that her label hasn't asked her to dumb down in the name of creating a more mainstream product.
