That chiseled stomach. Those cut arms. Pink's simple approach to a killer body: Exercise your mind, and your abs will follow.
Once hailed as the anti-Britney, Pink is as famous for her rock-hard stomach as she is for her rock-infused pop anthems. "I call them my tranny abs," she says with a wry smile, "because people always come up to me and say, 'Girls don't have those things!'" She believes her midriff is a result of her training as a child gymnast, but Pink still works at her athletic body. When she is on tour, she jogs for an hour and does another hour of yoga each day. "For me, life, fitness, singing, and performing are a body-mind-spirit thing. It's all connected," Pink says. "If I feel healthy, I feel beautiful." Now, back in the studio to record her fifth album, she reveals her secrets of staying strong and thinking Pink.
LESSON #1 A LITTLE OBSESSION DOESN'T HURT
"I'm very dedicated to staying in shape when I'm on tour. In fact, last year my crew staged an intervention to try to get me to stop going to the gym so much. I just get so into it--I love to sweat and to feel like a beast."
LESSON #2 DITCH THE DRILL SERGEANT
"I've tried to use a personal trainer; I'll do it for a week and then quit. I just feel like a puppet. I know my body better than anybody else does, and it's hard for me to exercise on someone else's schedule. Maybe I want to check my email first. Maybe I want some coffee. I like to work out when I'm ready."
