In a move that highlights the rising profile of information security, IT services company EDS has added information assurance managed services to its portfolio with the acquisition of Vistorm.
The financial sector is concentrating increasingly on managing the regulatory and compliance risks attached to the information they hold, following some high-profile data losses such as that at HSBC.
Vistorm chief executive Jim Kent told IWR: "The strategy for the combined enterprise is to retain Vistorm as a specialist security player alongside the EDS brand, giving us the industrial strength we need. Yet we get to continue to be who we are and do what we do.
