I have been exercising at least an hour a day, six days a week, for nearly ten years. That is about 3,100 hours, give or take a Pilates class. I exercise with such ardent dedication because I really do believe in the long-standing promise of a good workout. I believe that exercise and weight are inversely proportional; I believe that, yes, you can raise the rate of your resting metabolism with enough hard sweat; and I believe an extra ten minutes on the treadmill could be the difference between a size 6 and a size 4.
