TAIPEI, May 1 Asia Pulse - Taitung County in eastern Taiwan saw only 20 per cent of its usual plum harvest this year, due to unusual and unstable climate conditions during the fruit's growth and ripening periods, a plum grower told the CNA Wednesday.
According to Lee To-hai, who grows plums in Luanshan in the county's Yen-ping Township, the area usually produces more than 150,000 kg of plums annually, but this year's production was only 20,000 kg.
