TAIPEI, May 1 Asia Pulse - President-elect Ma Ying-jeou met Wednesday with Hiroshi Mikitani, chairman and CEO of Rakuten Inc., one of the largest online shopping mall operators in Japan, to exchange ideas on the subject of electronic commerce.
Mikitani met with Ma and Minister-designate of Economic Affairs Yiin Chii-ming at the Taipei headquarters of the soon-to-be-ruling Kuomintang.
After the 30-minute meeting, Mikitani said in response to media inquiries that he and Ma had discussed how to help medium- and small-sized enterprises to promote their products by means of e-commerce.
