The New York--based design duo behind Banfi Zambrelli wax passionate about their business--the natural synergy between B (or Silvano Banfi) and Z (Frank Zambrelli); what they felt the first time they saw a woman in a Florence lobby wearing one of their creations ("pure validation"); and the grueling two hours it took to perfect a 110mm heel: "For all the modernity and evolution in manufacturing, shoes at this level of craft and beauty are still put together by hand," explains Zambrelli.
