Hair that looks perfect--every day--is priceless. Here, the country's best blow-outs, at under-the-radar hot spots where service doesn't cost a fortune.
When you consider that haircut prices have skyrocketed to $300, $400, and $500 (and even higher for superstars like Garren and Orlando), keeping that billion-dollar style looking like the billion dollars it cost with weekly blow-outs isn't decadent--it's smart. But here's a refreshing reality check: While many of the most perfectly polished women pay as much as a pair of Louboutins for a designer cut every few months, their routine blow-outs are another story. Just as a basic manicure doesn't need to be a grand affair, neither does a perfectly good blow-dry. We asked the chicest women coast to coast for their secret salons: the quick, no-hassle, all-business places they depend on to look their best--not just after a cut but every day.
BOSTON
JAMES JOSEPH STUDIO
(617) 821-7772 168 Newbury Street
A smaller sister studio to James Joseph Salon has become the quick-fix destination of choice during event season, when women visit as often as twice a week for fresh, party-perfect looks. Owner William George makes it easy for regulars by setting up prepaid accounts, removing the checkout procedure from the equation. George has two Studio locations, but word on the street is that Lindsey Bieber at the Newbury Street space is the most sought-after stylist for her glassy, polished finish ($45).
