Downtown debutante and newly minted restaurateur Julie Janklow has broken West Village ground for her down-home American eatery Sweetiepie, shepherded by none other than Mario Batali and set to open as early as this summer. Lucky friends and family are sampling the menu at exclusive weekly tastings, but everyone else will just have to wait.
