Beauty 101
Cheat Sheet
1 Start with clean, damp hair. Spritz the whole head with a light setting spray if your hair is thick, or a thickening spray if your hair is fine. Then drag a wide-tooth comb from roots to ends to ensure the product is evenly distributed throughout. 2 Part hair in the center, and use your hands to scrunch hair as you blow it dry. If hair is curly, blow it 90 percent dry with a paddle brush and skip the scrunching, which can make the curl come back. 3 When hair is nearly dry, divide it into two equal sections by continuing the middle part to the nape
of the neck. Twist each section into a loose bun using bobby pins to secure them at ear level. 4 Using a blow-dryer with a diffuser, blast your whole head for an additional five minutes or as long as it takes for hair to dry completely. 5 Leave the buns in for at least ten minutes, then remove the bobby pins. Starting at the scalp, tousle waves by running your fingers through them. 6 Spritz the whole head with a texturizing spray to make hair slightly dull and to keep waves looking piecey. Use a flexible-hold hair spray to ensure waves don't drop during the day.
