Question: Something my mother did, which I have copied in my own house, is stocking one closet almost exclusively with items I buy throughout the year for friends and loved ones in advance of their birthdays, anniversaries, and-_always _vexing-the December holidays. Over the years, however, those items have been joined by other presents, gifts given to me or received in goodie bags at benefits, unwrapped, unused, not returned. This year I have a gnawing desire to rewrap and recycle the prettier things in lieu of buying more stuff for stuff's sake.
