A lot has happened this school year. From the news about millions of unsafe toys last summer to the surprising win of an underdog team in the Super Bowl, there was barely a dull moment. We take a look back at some of the most talked-about stories of this year.
Steroid Scandal
In recent years, many athletes have taken steroids to improve their games. Steroids are muscle-enhancing drugs. While they make people bigger and stronger, the drugs also cause many side effects, such as heart problems and violent behavior. And they are illegal.
Last summer, San Francisco Giants player Barry Bonds beat Hank Aaron's record by hitting his 762nd home run. However, many felt that Bonds's record should not count because he took steroids. He claims he didn't realize he was taking the drugs.
Fingers have been pointed at other baseball players, too, such as Roger Clemens. He denies using steroids. And the debate continues.
