Go, Speed, go! On May 9, Speed Racer races into theaters. The movie is based on a 1960s cartoon. It's the story of Speed (played by Emile Hirsch), a race car driver who must win a huge race to save his family's business. But when evil Royalton Industries does everything in its power to stop Speed, he needs all the help he get can from his girlfriend, Trixie (Christina Ricci).
Ricci is no stranger to movies based on old TV shows. She has played Kathleen in Casper (1995) and Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1995). But the talented actress always makes the characters her own. Trixie should be no different. Extra talked to Ricci about her new role.

Ricci: Trixie is sort of the girl I always wanted to be. She's very smart and very helpful, and she's very capable and funny, and she does everything the boys do. She races the cars, and she fights and knows kung fu and flies the helicopter and has her own job. She also has a special outfit for everything she does, so she's completely girly.
