Volume 2 of this series consists of 150 exercises divided into 16 groups, each of which focuses on a specific challenge as defined by the author. John Kembler states that the exercises are "progressive and structured to increase the pupil's awareness of new rhythms, keys and range of notes. Changes of hand position are introduced gradually, as is the recognition of and familiarity with chord shapes in both 2- and 3-note groups."

The exercises begin at the middle-elementary level and progress into the early-intermediate level, with the author stating that the level is "Grades 2 towards 4." Both hands are treated equally for melody and chord playing, and each exercise requires hands together playing for the entire exercise.
