- Major oil importer Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI) has sealed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with local firm Basic Energy Corporation for its ethanol supply.
- Rockwell Land Corporation is increasing its authorized capital stock from P6 billion to P9 billion to accommodate the infusion of additional capital from the shareholders of the company.
- Bayan Telecommunications (BayanTel) is rolling out additional base stations to expand its wireless landline service in Metro Manila within the first half of 2008 and in other provincial cities within the year.
- An economist has proposed further changes to the present build-operate-transfer (BOT) law and its implementing rules and regulations (IRR) to ensure prompt completion of BOT type infrastructure projects.
- The yield on the one-year (364-day) treasury bill rose to 5.705 perent from 5.266 percent at a fortnightly auction conducted by the Bureau of Treasury (BTr) yesterday after the government accepted bids for the first time in two months.
