BUSINESS TIMES:
- Malaysian Airline System Bhd (MAS) will buy as many as 55 Boeing 737-800 aircraft for US$4.2 billion (RM13.4 billion) to replace older planes and to fly to new routes.
- The government wants UDA Holdings Bhd, a state-owned property company, to be tougher on its 1,300 retailers to help develop better Bumiputera entrepreneurs.
- No foreign companies have applied to list on Bursa Malaysia as yet despite the easier listing rules, Securities Commission (SC) chairman Datuk Zarinah Anwar said.
- Dayang Enterprise Holdings Bhd, an oil and gas service provider set to be listed on Bursa Malaysia's main board next month, plans to pay a net dividend of 3.65 sen per share this year.
- Goodyear, one of the world's largest tyre companies, expects to get a big chunk of the mid-sized tyre market in Asia Pacific with its new Goodyear Assurance tyres.
