The Senate Rural and Regional Affairs and Transport Standing Committee is examining draft government legislation which would abolish the single desk wheat marketing system.
The draft laws are designed to create more competition and transparency for the export of bulk wheat shipments after the AWB kickbacks scandal.
AWB was found to have given almost $300 million in kickbacks to Saddam Hussein's regime in Iraq between 1999 and 2003.
Last week farmers from New South Wales told the Senate inquiry deregulation would destroy rural families, drive up suicide rates and force more people to abandon the land.
But today three wheatgrowers in WA, which provides the largest proportion of export wheat out of Australia, told a hearing in Perth they supported market deregulation.
Kim Halbert, a wheat grower from Three Springs in WA's midwest, told the hearing the sky had already fallen in for rural communities in WA.
