Four apparently well-cared-for dogs--a German shepherd mix, a pit bull, and two golden retrievers--killed two pet llamas, wounded three others, and attacked a horse in the Rose Valley area of Washington in incidents that began on November 29.
During the first incident, Susan Calhoun saw her neighbor's baby llama, Spice Girl, being attacked. When she approached the scene to rescue the llama, the pit bull snarled at her, prompting her to shoot at the dogs with her pistol, but all three shots missed. The dogs ran away. Spice Girl had to be killed because of her wounds.
