Harris County, Texas, homeowner Damon Barone said that he and his wife were awake at 2:15 a.m. on December 14, feeding their infant daughter in their bedroom when he heard a loud noise and the whole house shook. He grabbed a pistol and investigated, and then he heard glass breaking. Barone went into the bedroom where the sound seemed to emanate, and he saw a man climbing in through the window. Barone shot several times, striking and killing the man.
