Nineteen-year-old Ronald Harrison planned to rob someone at gunpoint on the night of December 12. He made that ambition very obvious early that day when he stole a gun from a friend's house to use during the armed robbery.
At about 9 p.m., Harrison rang the doorbell of Campbell, Ohio, resident Nicolas Galanses, planning to rob him. But Harrison didn't know that Galanses never answers his front door. A suspicious Galanses went to a side door that opened into his garage, grabbing a pistol as he went. Galanses called out, "Who's there?"
Harrison responded to the beckons by running into the garage, raising his gun, and yelling, "Give me the money." Galanses, thinking that he was about to be shot, opened fire. He shot five times, and then ducked back into his house to call ...
