Beethoven Journal 21, no. 2 (Winter 2006): dedicated to the memory of Elliot Forbes; guest edited by Kevin Bazzana. Includes the full text of Martin Anderson's obituary for Elliot Forbes, the shortened version of which appeared in The Independent (25 January 2006).

Contemporary Music Review 26, no. 3-4 (2007): Earle Brown: From Motets to Mathematics. This special issue devoted to the life of Earle Appleton Brown, Junior (1926-2002) includes three different interviews with Brown at different times. The issue is limited to discussion of his musical accomplishments and the visual arts are not included. The editor notes in his introduction (p. 286) that a catalog and discography are in progress at the Earle Brown Music Foundation; its progress can be monitored at: http://www.earle-brown.org. Vol. 26, no. 2 (2007): Contemporary Performance. Articles present the performer's perspective on contemporary music by discussing accounts of performance preparation, interpreting contemporary "classics," and notation challenges. The issue effectively documents some performance practices of our time.

Journal of Aesthetics and Art Criticism 65, no. 1 (Winter 2007): Global Theories of the Arts and Aesthetics. This special issue examines whether Western theories of the arts and aesthetics can be extended to practices in the arts around the world.
