After a day of educational seminars and networking, you'll want to get out and explore Louisville's many offerings. Whether a quiet walk through a riverfront green area or a night of painting the town red better suits you, the Kentucky International Convention Center complex is located in the heart of downtown Louisville and can accommodate anyone's perfect day or night out.
Fourth Street Live!
With nine restaurants, one food court, six bars/nightclubs and three entertainment venues, plus some great retail outlets to choose from, Fourth Street Live! is a great place to spend your free time.
Of local fame is the Maker's Mark Bourbon House and Lounge, an entire restaurant, bar and lounge dedicated to Kentucky's favorite drink, bourbon. With its wall of Kentucky distilled bourbons and its near-58' wooden bar, the Maker's Lounge is a must-see in Bourbon Country. Upscale casual dress is required. The owners of the Maker's Lounge also own Sully's Saloon, an Irish-American bar nearby. Think you can sling drinks with the best of them? Sign up to be one of the guest bartenders at either place--see how well you do!
Try Tengo Sed Cantina for a lively Mexican meal, The Red Star Tavern for American fare and microbrews, J. Gumbo's for Cajun food or Lucky Strike Lanes for dinner and some bowling for dessert.
If you've already eaten and just want to take in the nightlife, many of the restaurants in 4th Street Live! have lounges and bars separate from the dining rooms. Also worth noting is Saddle Ridge, the "Rock-n-Country Saloon." Try your hand at a game of billiards at Felt, an upscale billiards club and lounge, or let out your wild side at Angel's Rock Bar, which boasts DJs or live music Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
Howl at the Moon is another hotspot and a perfect place to unwind after a long day of sessions. Dueling piano players, along with encouraged audience participation, entertain the crowds with songs, parodies and groveling for tips.
