Computer 2000, the UK arm of Tech Data, has named Nick Tiltman as credit services director in what is thought to be one of the first board-level appointments of a director with specific responsibility for credit management in the UK.
The new role has been created in recognition of the vitally important role that credit management is playing in the distribution business, says managing director of Computer 2000, Andy Gass. "We are delighted to welcome Nick onto the board. He is a highly experienced member of our management team with strong commercial awareness. In making this appointment we are demonstrating just how important an aspect of our business credit is today. For them, it means that they can be assured that credit is given the highest possible profile within our business and that our policies are always geared to meeting their needs."
Tiltman will take on his UK board level responsibilities while continuing to carry out key functions of his role as director of credit services for Tech Data Europe--a position he has held since 2005. Specifically, he will retain responsibility for credit strategy, credit insurance and risk management.
