Several programs started by the Pennsylvania Game Commission to encourage hunting among young teens and children have paid unexpected dividends.
The Keystone State has a special six-day junior hunting season permitting youngsters ages 12 to 16 to hunt ring-necked pheasants and red, gray, black, and fox squirrels.
