Patient: Female, 27 years old

Medications: olanzapine (Zyprexa)

Case: A 27-year-old Japanese woman with a 2-year history of anorexia nervosa (restricting type) was admitted with agitation, general fatigue and fear of obesity (BMI: 14.1 kg/[m.sup.2], mean daily energy intake: 1,043 kcal/day). She had no personal or family history of diabetes mellitus or other metabolic disorders. In the first week, lab results showed aspartate aminotransferase of 39 IU/L (normal range 10 to 34 IU/L) and alanine aminotransferase of 61 IU/L (normal range 7 to 50 IU/L. An oral glucose tolerance test showed impaired glucose tolerance with delayed insulin secretion.
