PANAMA CITY, March 3 Asia Pulse - The free trade agreement between Taiwan and El Salvador came into effect Saturday after the two countries exchanged instruments of ratification at a ceremony held in the Salvadoran capital San Salvador, Taiwan's embassy in the Central American nation said Sunday.
President Elias Antonio Saca described the pact as "of historic importance" and said it is El Salvador's first such deal with a country outside the Americas, the embassy said in a press release.
