NEW DELHI, March 3 Asia Pulse - India's largest two-wheeler maker Hero Honda, which slashed prices across its various models after the excise duty cut announced in the budget, expects better sales in coming months courtesy the overall policy.
The company had announced a price cut in the range of Rs 1,300 (US$32.56) to Rs 2,400 across its various models, while its flagship model Splendor will see a drop of Rs 1,300, after finance minister P Chidambaram announced a cut in the excise duty on two wheelers to 12 per cent from 16 per cent.
"Definitely, with the price cut there should be improved sales in the coming months," Hero Honda Motors managing director Pawan Munjal told PTI.
He, however, added that it was not only the price cut that was expected to boost the sales, but some other proposals announced in the budget could have an indirect effect on propping up retail offtake.
