MIAMI BEACH -- Laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis relieves chronic pelvic pain for up to 5 years, Dr. Amy Weaver said in a poster presentation at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
In a prospective, observational cohort study, 484 women (average age 32 years) were followed from 3 to 60 months after surgery to remove diseased tissue, restore normal anatomy and excise endometriosis when present, said Dr. Weaver, a surgeon in private practice in Atlanta.
