MIAMI BEACH -- Both small intestine cell mucosa mesh and porcine dermis mesh yield excellent results when used for posterior vaginal wall prolapse, Dr. Jim Ross said at the annual meeting of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
Both materials are easy to attach and easy to use, but the small intestine sub-mucosa healed more like normal tissue in a small pilot study, said Dr. Ross of the Center for Reproductive Medicine and Female Continence, Salinas (Calif.).
