For many of you who are like me, you can't wait to receive your conference issue of AMT to start circling all the sessions you want to be sure to attend and bemoan the fact that you can't be in two places at the same time! However, I know there are many of you who receive this issue and put it aside rationalizing once again all the reasons you can't go. I am hoping as conference chair to try to convince you that attending a conference is really worth the time and money you will need to invest in this incredible experience. Talk to any of us who have been going for many years, and we'd all agree that the knowledge you'll gain and the professional and social contacts you will make are priceless.

The Conference Planning Committee has put together an incredibly diverse group of presenters and topics. We were fortunate to receive an overwhelming amount of outstanding proposals. In addition, we have assembled several panels including the leading pedagogues in the country.
Highlights of this year's conference include an evening recital and master class by internationally known pianist Lang Lang and a special conversation and master class with mezzo-soprano Marilyn Horne. We know you won't want to miss any of those events, plus a wonderful concert where pianist Anne Epperson will share her love of collaborative performance.
