TAIPEI, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Acer founder Stan Shih's scheduled visit to Philippines March 5, will serve as a great opportunity to promote the second-phase "APEC Digital Opportunity Centre" (ADOC 2.0) initiative, an official of the Taiwanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) said Thursday.
Speaking at the MOFA's regularly scheduled press briefing, David Lin, director-general of the Department of International Organizations of the MOFA, said that the government hopes Shih can communicate and exchange views with Philippine authorities on how to "upgrade and expand" the project.
The ADOC project was initiated by Taiwan in 2004 at the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum and Shih, who served as the representative of President Chen Shui-bian to the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Sydney 2007, proposed a second-phase of ADOC at the summit ...
