TAIPEI, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - The Construction and Planning Agency under the Ministry of the Interior will invest an additional NT$12.3 billion (US$382 million) this year to expand the coverage of the country's sewer systems, officials said Thursday.
The amount will cover the cost of constructing nine new sewerage systems under the build-operate-transfer model, the officials said.
The agency expects to see the number of Taiwanese households with access to sewers increase by 3 per cent this year, compared with the average annual growth rate of 1.6 per cent over the past five years, they said.
