TAIPEI, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - The first national info-communication security certificate has been issued to the Bankers Association for its digital signature generator, marking a great leap in Taiwan's protection of electronic commerce, government sources said Thursday.
The device is aimed at preventing fraud in online banking transactions. It allows banks to verify the authenticity of signatures by showing the real customer's signature digitally.
The security certificate was given by the independent National Communications Commission (NCC), which has commissioned the Telecom Technology Centre (TTC) in the southern county of Kaohsiung to test and review all related applications.
