NEW DELHI, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Cairn Energy Plc of the UK on Thursday raised the production estimate for Mangala, its largest oilfield in Rajasthan, by 25 per cent.
Potential plateau production from the Mangala field in Rajasthan, developed by Cairn's Indian unit, rose to 125,000 barrels a day, the company said in a statement.
The company said it would pump first oil from the Mangala field in the second half of 2009.
"The potential of Mangala to produce up to 125,000 barrels of oil per day has led to a review of the o (PTI)m scale and scope of the Rajasthan development and we are confident of achieving first oil in the second half of 2009," Cairn said.
