CANBERRA, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Federal Treasurer Wayne Swan says there is still room for personal income tax cuts in the May budget.
But he says the government needs to make additional expenditure savings to take pressure off inflation.
"The most important thing the federal government can do is cut back on spending - we're going to do that - but there is room for the (A$31 billion - US$27.77 billion) tax cuts, they're important," he told ABC Radio today.
"What we have to do in government is take the pressure off the Reserve Bank by dealing with inflation problem we inherited."
