JAKARTA, Feb 1 Asia Pulse - Transportation Minister Jusman Syafii Djamal said that all airstrips in Indonesia should be upgraded to avoid undesired incidents such as the one that occurred with a Twin Otter plane at an airstrip in Paniai district, Papua, on Wednesday.
"The standards of airports, particularly airstrips, in Indonesia should be upgraded," he said in reply to a reporter's question after the signing of an agreement on cooperation in transportation safety between Indonesia and Australia worth US$24 million here on Thursday.
He did not explain what he meant by upgrading. ...
