FRENCH BANK FRAUD TO HAVE LITTLE IMPACT ON TAIWAN INVESTORS: FSC
TAIPEI - The fallout from the trading scandal at France's Societe Generale bank is expected to have only a minimal impact on Taiwanese investors, the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) estimated Wednesday.
Speaking at a press conference, FSC officials urged local investors not to panic, saying that despite losing 4.9 billion euros (US$7.3 billion) in the scandal involving rogue trader Jerome Kerviel, the bank "will not collapse."
