French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner has said that his country wants to seek closer ties with Turkey, despite differences of views between Ankara and Paris on Turkey's EU membership bid.

"Our two countries may not agree on every issue but we can work out everything by talking as Turkey and France have a lot to share," Kouchner told a joint press conference with Turkey's Foreign Minister and Chief Negotiator Ali Babacan on 5aOctober in Ankara.
