LOUGHTON CONTRACTS, a CFA member, has completed 'one of the most intricate and demanding projects' in its 35 years in business.
It involved the installation of a magnificent timber floor in the new arrivals and departures halls of the Eurostar terminal at St Pancras Station, London, which is due to be officially opened by The Queen this month.
In conjunction with fit-out contractor ISG and Chapman Taylor architects, Loughton installed 5,100sq m of jatoba parquet flooring following concrete repairs, resin DPM and pumped screeds to provide a suitable base for the timber.
Loughton's floorlayers also had to to set and level 1,200 air diffusers to be the exact depth and in line with each other and to install over 450 custom built stainless steel access covers with timber inlay to match the surrounding ladder pattern.
