An unidentified Deatsville, Alabama, man had luck and a shotgun on his side when he confronted a pair of burglars in his home at 1 p.m. on September 18. The luck part came in an odd way. Shots taken during a dove hunt damaged a cable line to his house, "and the cable company called his cell phone and asked that he meet them at the house. Otherwise, he wouldn't even have been home," reported the Montgomery Advertiser.

When he arrived home, there was a strange car in his driveway and the front door of his house was open. When he approached his house, his front door was slammed in his face.
