New York Governor Eliot Spitzer has been forced to abandon his plan to allow driver's licenses for illegal immigrants. When we reported about this story in the November 26 issue of THE NEW AMERICAN, Spitzer's scheme was already sputtering, and in a last-ditch effort to save it, he had replaced his original plan to give driver's licenses to practically all illegal immigrants with a three-tier plan that would have produced three types of licenses.
