As oil prices hit historical highs, the increased transportation cost will have a significant impact on global trade and logistics service providers. Global supply chains are far more vulnerable to fluctuations in fuel cost, due to the long distances. For price-sensitive goods sourced from Asia, transportation costs are a large portion of the total landed cost.
