Doctoral students in Educational Leadership and Innovation at the University of Colorado at Denver work toward their PhD in faculty-led research labs. In 2006-07 associate professor Dr. Connie Fulmer and assistant professor Dr. Dorothy Garrison-Wade had a novel approach: They started a lab to study and strengthen capacity for educational leadership.
Along with five of their students, they spoke at the Women in Educational Leadership Conference in Lincoln NE in October. "The lab is supposed to be about building leadership capacity. When we got the call for papers, we thought we'd better define it," Fulmer said.
